Tried it this evening, ok naman, lakas lang makadrain ng battery kahit naka charge na sa kotse, mas malskas pa rin drain ng battery kaysa charge gps + mobile internet + screen always on).

di ko pa kabisado yung mga icon na nakikita ko, ano ba yun, other waze users or traffic chat update sa lugar na yun? minsan nakakakita ako ng speed of someone ahead of me, speed siguro ng other waze users yun.

i hope this can help me tomorrow deciding what route to take.

Also, ok din ba ung preloaded na map (ung post na point A to point B and then go offline)? Pwede un? Thanks..

Natuwa din ako dito sa Waze app... hehe. Maayos ang presentation ng maps.

Waze user here, I use it more for its traffic update. mahirap lang mag contribute while you're driving, mas makaka-contribute siguro ako if someone else is on the wheels.

For navigation, I still use my beat-up but trusty Garmin.

Haven't tried Qaze.. subukan ko idownload mamaya... i was using Sygic last night and got lost in navigation, it doesn't recalculate the route once you deviate sa sinet nya.. Garmin's much better than it. I hope Waze can compete with Garmin's efficiency.

Actually driving while your waze is running is already contribution. Tinitignan ng waze ang average speed mo for a particular section of road then it automatically upload it sa server. Kaya minsan mapapansin mo sa map may speed ng road, that data came from users na dumaan sa road na yun.

So kung unli data naman kayo at you can spare some battery juice, open your waze kahit na you dont need to use it, para contribution na rin.

Kulang kulang pa mga roads outside of metro manila. Mga minor roads di pa kasama, especially sa mga villages.

Anyone here experiencing bugs in waze that involve having the no network connection error even though you have a mobile internet connection active? I've been getting this error frequently this past month and it is getting annoying. I know my mobile net connection works since I am able to check my emails. But even if my email connects with no problem, for some reason waze gives a no network connection error all the time.

What mobile internet provider do most wazers here use, smart or globe networks?

I'm getting fed up with the bugs with waze and the slow routing and no network connection issues, that I'm planning to just use OsmAnd instead since it has the most accurate philippine map second only to google maps and roadguideph.

Waze is most useful for its real time traffic monitoring and problem reports, but I'm finding this feature to be less useful since almost every road in metro manila during weekdays is filled with traffic that it makes the traffic monitoring feature useless.

I experience this also. I don't use a phone with 3g connection though. I use a tablet with on board wifi. So that means this isn't an issue with your telco provider but a bug with the current version of waze. Mine's an android app if that helps.

I'm a gps geek so while driving, I usually have 4 or 5 gps units/apps running/ on board, a garmin map, built in AVT map (which GUI sucks!), waze on android, and OSMand. I sometimes use Google Maps to heck on Latitude friends also.

Nothing beats garmin for turn by turn direction coupled with a large screen and a very detailed map (roadguide). OSMand is very useful if you dont have a garmin and is at par with roadguide maps. Waze is really good for crowd sourcing traffic data. I use it together with the MMDA app. As for the AVT, again GUI really sucks but is so-so for gps newbies and those who has no other options.

Yun lang. For garmin and OSMand users, please contribute map data for Philippines Gps Map and OpenStreetMap so we can have a better Philippine map. Waze has an internet-only map editor and you can use it also.
