January 19th, 2015 03:38 PM #131summarize ko lang kung tama pagkaintindi ko.
Halogen bulb + reflector = ok
HID Bulb + reflector = go kill yourself
HID Bulb + retrofit = Go go go
Dito ako nalilito,
Halogen bulb + halogen projector = ok
HID Bulb + halogen projector = ok?
I have considered a retrofit by Gary, but I cannot afford the down time.
Thanks.

^^ basta projectors ok lang magpalit ng bulbs to hid. like on my sorento naka oem projectors yun na dati halogen ang bulb. pinalitan ko ng hid ang bulb ok lang naman, may cut-off at walang glare. but to be sure ibaba mo ng konti ang aim para walang hassle.
kung naka-oem projectors pa ang car mo at wala ka time palagay ng hid, pwede naman hanap ka ng bulbs na mas malakas ang output (but same wattage) sa oem bulbs. one type i recommend is Raybrig 4300K bulbs that give 110 watts output for the same 55 watts rating. di iinit ang lens kasi same lang naman ang wattage pero almost like hid ang light. another brand is Philips extreme vision. just avoid getting "white" or "blue" bulbs that are higher than 4300K light temp, like yung mga 6000K. maganda tignan pero useless naman sa ulan.Last edited by yebo; January 19th, 2015 at 04:27 PM.

Natanong ko na yan kay Gary. Depende daw sa halogen projector kung kaya magbigay ng tamang output for HID.
Also, from automotive lighting forums abroad and what gary explained earlier in the thread, di pa rin siya optimal since at the end of the day, iba ang pag-emit ng ilaw ng halogen sa HID bulb which is why they still use slightly different projectors. Kumbaga, compromised pa rin ang output quality ng HID on halogen projectors vs a real retrofit, but it's much better than HID on halogen projectors in terms of glare.
This guy asked the exact same question:
HID Projector vs. Halogen Projector differences?

January 24th, 2015 12:15 AM #134In short, using PnP HID with halogen projectors will not produce the optimum results compared to a full retrofit. Depending on the manufacturer, some will work fine with PnP HID. Hit or Miss kung baga.

January 24th, 2015 11:14 AM #136Had a PnP kit installed on my Montero Glx. temporarily installed 6000k while waiting for the 4300k bulbs to arrive. Nagkamali yung staff sa shop pag label ng h11 compatible kit. Though its significantly brighter than stock halogen, I can already see it would be useless in the rain. lol.
Advantage pag kaibigan may-ari ng shop libre pa buffet dinner while install yung kit. hehehe

there are some cars na kahit halogen reflector, they can take hids. may konting konting glare padin pero hindi lagpas sa cut off.
Yup nakakalaki ang bright colors and dark colors nakakapa-***y hehe
