February 25th, 2005 03:28 PM #32bros, I tried comparing the 3 variants, I noticed na konti lang ang pagkakaiba ng variant J and E. like power features sa doors, mags, headrest, upholstery, speakers. Nothing really big difference. Pero ba't kaya ang layo ng agwat ng price nila, P100K ba yun?. I guess if you buy J variant and upgrade it to E, baka di pa aabot ng 50K. Just my layman's observation. What do you thnk guys?

February 26th, 2005 05:15 PM #39strayWOLF,
I bought an XUV AT last year for the following personal reasons:
-reputable engine
-high height clearance (pang baha)
-can carry 10 people (pang pamilya)
-can carry a lot of load (pang business)
-good looks (pwede pang porma)
-diesel because in theory I would save on fuel costs
Later on I found out this is not the case. Someone in the revo yahoo groups did a fuel computation analysis. It turned out that you will realize the fuel cost savings of the crosswind as against the revo gas only after 3 years or after 100,000 km. This is because the XUV was P75,000 more expensive than the revo gas at that time. Three years is a long time to wait to save on fuel costs.
After I began to use the XUV daily, here are my personal observations:
-matagtag (used 32 or 35 psi, probably my mistake)
-maingay makina (tolerable, but I envy the revo gas, tahimik talaga ng nasakay ako sa kotse ng kaibigan ko, parang ang gaan ng pakiramdam)
-maagang kinalawang (just see "Rust.." thread)
-poor interior build quality (just see "Rust.." thread)
-poor fit and finish (just see "Rust.." thread)
-warranty is only 50k km or 2 years, Toyota gives 100k km or 3 years
This is just me, kasi yung ibang crosswind owners, wala naman problema at very satisfied sila at highly recommended nila ang crosswind. As you can see, malas ata talaga ako sa isuzu cars, kahit ba naman sa service unit man lang, hehehe. Haaay buhay! ;)
I'm just a new driver and new car owner. For people like me that don't know much about cars, the following items will be the most noticeable:
-ride comfort
-hatak ng makina
-ingay ng makina
-lakas ng aircon
-car vibration
-interior quality
-outside design of car
-warranty
-after sales support
-parts/add-on items availability
I suggest you test drive both and compare the build quality of the Innova and Crosswind. Based on personal experience, I won't recommend the crosswind to you. I haven't rode an Innova yet so I can't comment on it. Based on feedback from the other tsikoteers, the Innova seems to be quite promising. Just remember, there's a reason why Toyota is number one. And it shows on the quality of their vehicles.
