Need Help in Deciding Ford/Toyota/Mistusbishi (Fiesta vs Vios vs LancerEX)

If you were to decide between the choices sir, where would you stand?

The Fiesta is superior to the Vios except in rear seat space, where it feels small due to the roofline. The Mazda2 is nearly equal to the Vios in terms of rear seat space and the 1.5 MT is fantastic to drive. Both the Fiesta and the Mazda2 have huge trunks compared to the Toyota.

You really shouldn't discount Honda. The Jazz and City are really in a class of their own when it comes to usable space and power for their size. Biggest seating space, biggest trunks, most powerful engines. Handling not quite as good as the Mazda2, but still very, very good. If you're getting an MT, you'll be happy with a Jazz 1.3 MT. ( I know your other choices are sedans, but the Jazz has better passenger space and more useful cargo space than anything else out there...)



Really does depend on the model. The more common Fords are easy to get parts for. Certain cars, like the Focus TDCi, have expensive parts. US-made Fords (like the Expe) have parts that aren't necessarily too expensive, but are very hard to source (needs to be imported).

The Fiesta is Thai-made, and Ford is bringing in parts for it. They promise the parts will be affordable... but of course... iba ang "affordable" sa casa compared to outside.

I dunno...right now...I'm scanning pix of the vios (facelifted) and wasn't that impressed with the looks. It's sooo taxi (No offense to vios owners )

yan ang mahirap may mga sleepless night ka sa kakaisip hehe..same tayo ng kinalalagyan dati..ang ginawa ko nagpunta ako sa mga casa apply for a test drive sa mga choices kong cars pati si komander , yung honda fb ba yun 1.8 pag test drive ko wow astig ang hatak ang leg room okey comfort at yung solid ang gawa until napansin ko naiilang ako dun sa digital speedometer nya,resale price nya oks din then try ko yung honda city hehe..dko ko alam bakit first time kong mahilo nung minaneho ko naging worst nung nasa likod na ako.so the next time.then try ko yung vios okey naman sya medyo nasikipan lang ako.para lang syang gets ni komander so yung altis naman maganda sya at comportable maganda hatak at resale value.then konting research about sa engine medyo nadismaya ako.then punta kami ng mitsu.unang tingin plang ni komander nagustuhan na nya agad hahaha..sabi ko test drive muna namin..tas medyo nag shy away ako dahil 2li engine nga sya.then test drive ko,straight forward yung pagkakadesign nya pero yung interior dko type at hindi solid mga knobs nya..so ang ginawa namin pinag usapan namin.nga pros and cons nilang lahat research research din sa mga car clubs..ending namin lancer ex..oks lang yung 2li kasi medyo gamit pang byahe sa probinsya pangasinan to bulacan..then d rin masyado nagluluwas manila..kaya advice ko eh test drive mo lahat do research write down mo pros and cons nya...dko na na try yung ford and mazda hehe..maganda yung mazda 2..

But then the Mazda 2 has very weak engines compared to their Ford counterpart. Many reviews have pointed out that the difference in power between the 2 and even just the Yaris (4hp difference) is easily noticeable, let alone a 17hp difference and a double clutch transmission.

Only at higher speeds. And even then, the difference is noticeable, but in practice, the Mazda2 can keep up with the Vios until you're way past 120 km/h, at which point the Toyota starts pulling away. Not really a big deal unless you drive at 160-180 km/h on the Skyway every day.

Below 80 km/h, the Mazda2, with its light weight and shorter gearing, is faster. Our Mazda2 test units have been consistently quicker than our Vios test units. And in Philippine traffic, that's all that matters.

Still don't know about the Fiesta 1.6... but the Honda Jazz also has a huge power advantage over the Mazda2 and a good transmission. In a drag race, the Mazda2 loses soundly, but on the road, in practice, the difference really isn't all that great.
