Hyundai Accent HB MT or Chevrolet Sonic MT

Hi Guys,

First post pero long time lurker na dito sa tsikot. First time driver din po at sa kasalukuyang naghahanap ng first car.

Me and gf are choosing between the two: Hyundai Accent HB MT or Chevrolet Sonic MT . Dahil sa newbie lang po ako sa mga cars, tanong ko lang po kung ano po ang mas prefer nyo? Madalas lang magagamit yung car sa weekend pag uwi ng province, siguro magagamit lang tuwing weekdays kung kakain sa labas. Pero di namans sya gagamitin araw araw pagpasok sa work. We are also planning na pang matagalan na sasakyan, like after 7-10 yrs tska na lang bibili ulet ng bago.

1. Maintenance
2. Reliability
3. FC
4. Specs
5. performance


Kung may suggestion pa po kayo within the price range po nitong dalawa na better sa kanila pakisali na rin po

Although the Chevrolet Sonic has really good looking rims, and a better looking front fascia than the Accent, it's not enough to top the Accent off

The Accent is just beastly yet cheap to run. Punta ka province every week? Naku. Mas kailangan mo power ng Accent There's a good number of devilish torque ready for disposal

Accent na! The slight additional you pay in buying that extra gallon of motor oil is definitely worth it! Not to mention that Hyundai has a wider dealer network and a more widespread parts supply. Walang maibabatbat ang Sonic sa Accent in terms of gas mileage and performance. It's CRDi, 'nuff said! Medyo bare nga lang ang Accent since kinailangang ibaba ang presyo but the essentials are all there.

1. Maintenance - both are new models in the market, don't expect it to have replacement / non-casa parts soon. i'd also think twice about having them serviced outside since di pa familiar mga non-casa mechanics and shops. but anyway, you'll probably have it serviced sa casa in the first few years.
2. Reliability - similar reason to #1, but i'll go with accent.
3. FC -- ACCENT DIESEL.
4. Specs -- in terms of?
5. performance -- gas is more fun at mid-high revs, but you don't seem to be the heavy-foot type, so better go with the accent.

Try to test drive both units, it'll help a lot with the decision-making. with showroom units, what I didnt like about the accent is its small windshield and windows, feels cramped. with the sonic, i had trouble positioning my long legs (i'm 5'10").

btw, warning, accdg to the hyundai accent thread, some hyundai casas *require* you to pay the 5k reservation fee before allowing you to test drive -- say NO to this! find another dealership instead.

other suggestions in the price range: toyota vios 1.3G M/T, honda city 1.3S M/T. toyotas and hondas are proven long-term cars.

Yes sir mas nagagandahan din ako sa looks ng Chevy Sonic

Salamat po sa lahat ng nagrespond! talagang panalo ang Accent sa lahat ng aspect except sa looks and toys na sa tingin ko Sonic ang lamang.

mas lamang ng konti sa hitsura at toys ang sonic but it's not enough nor even close in beating the practicality, frugality and power of the accent. yung hitsura anf toys madali naman idagdag sa accent yun. mainam pa nga na bare lang accent para siyang blank canvass ikaw na bahala magpintura kung ano gusto mo ilagay.

Accent HB ka na, Diesel so mas tipid and has more power...

May mga features ang sonic na wala sa same price range nya pero mas malakas ang accent diesel at mas matipid. Sa criteria mo mukhang mas bagay sa yo ang accent diesel.
