I'd go with the Jazz GE (late 2008 - onwards) but with the 1.5L engine if AT tranny. The 1.3L AT is a bit underpowered and fairs less in terms of FC against the 1.5L model. My brother-in-law has a late 2008 (early 2009) Jazz GE 1.3L AT. It's spacious for a subcompact hatch but don't expect a zippy drive. FC is about 8-9 km/L on city driving routes but would go around 13-15 km/L on the highway. You need to be aggressive on the gas pedal if you want to push it past 100kmh (averaging near 3k rpm on steady 100kmh cruise). On the other hand, my mom-in-law's 2009 City E 1.5L AT can do 10-11 km/L on city driving and 15-17 km/L on the highway. It can cruise at 100kmh between 2000-2500 rpm depending on the fuel you use (better 95RON on the highway for lower cruising rpm). Good thing though, Honda L engines are not picky with gas. It can run with no problems using 91RON gas. Steering though is quite soft and lacks responsiveness for either Jazz or City. The Jazz GE though offers better handling compared to the City GE.
If you want a more responsive and better handling subcompact, go with the Fiesta or Mazda2.Last edited by Egan101; October 30th, 2014 at 11:54 AM.
