    2008 X-Trail prices range at 600-700k.
2008 Escape prices range from 550-600k.

Prices are from various sellers from Sulit and AyosDito.

Hard to compare 2009-2010 X-Trail prices since there aren't a lot of them kasi eto yung time na parating na yung new one.

No offense to Nissan owners or Nissan as a whole. Di talaga siya sikat with the ladies.

Is this your garage sachiel? Love the all white theme but cant help noticing that a single fortuner wont cut it so you had to get another one with the same color hehehe.

Yes. The fortuners are assigned to our managers so when they left, we use it until it can be assigned to a new one. My parents don't like black so white is the safest choice haha. The blue Xtrail CVT is too bright for me, if they had the dark blue like the first gen, I would choose it. The gray is also so so for me so I chose white. It goes well with the black accents.

The fort still feels truck like. Gas pareho hehe.

Good luck sa shopping. Masarap mag shopping ng tsikot sa weekends.=)

After mazda went to subaru naman. There was an event last night sa showroom... Launch of the impreza naman. Test drive unit was not available at that time so what the sales person did was escort us to the 3rd flr to look and tinker the xv. Sakto the unit there was a premium camelliA red and a white unit. Naliitan taga si wife. Boot space talaga and a little bit on the rear headroom. Did not try to influence the wife na. Im letting her do all the analyzing. Ang kinalabasan......wife decided to withdraw out reservation for the xv. It pains me but the subaru will have to be dropped na

Baker...hindi pa naman. Toss up between cx5 and the new sta. fe. I know these are from 2 different categories but heck what can i do....eto yung choices ni misis and pinabayaan ko na sya sa pagpili. Dont want to meddle na din. Stubborn eh.

Oh well...in the interest of marital bliss and peace as some of you have mentioned.

So after going to subaru, went to hyundai edsa-greenhills. According to them, their line for the sante fe has only 2 reservations with their initial batch of 8 units to arrive by the end of the month up to mid august. No collaterals yet like brochures and flyers but was able to get hold of a photocopy of the specs. Will try to scan it and post it here. But there will be 3 variants, all CRDi. Base model is 4x2 MT at 1.568, next grade is the 4x2 AT at 1.768 and the top of the line is their 4x4 AT at 2.2 almost the same at the explorer ecoboost. Casted a reservation na just to be sure and will just come back to test drive and see the actual unit.

If you can shell out the extra 300k for the Santa Fe 4x2 AT, then go for it

maganda performance ng santa fe, and the ride is very car-like. di matagtag, tama lang. no regrets pag yan nabili nyo.

only downside is the PM cost at HARI dealers. they insist on every 3 months oil change even if the mileage is still below 5000km. and recently someone posted that the oil they use is actually below the required specs for a crdi e-vgt engine, maybe that is the reason they insist on a 3-months pm interval. so don't buy from HARI dealers, buy from pitstop or hancars where the pm interval is 5000 km.

Though there are some HARI dealers that let the customer bring their own oil and parts. I still follow the 5000km interval at under warranty parin yung Tucson ko.

TS im actually watching this thread for a while now.. The only reason i have not yet made a single comment is because your list then doesnt include korean cars. Since ngayon pwede na, ill share my input.

First, please tell your wife that this is coming from a female in her late 20's, single but with plenty of pamangkins and a big family from abroad who goes home once or twice a year. I have an old 3DR SUV which i still maintain and use most of the time and an AUV i use when i need bigger space or when family visits me here. Recently, my Dad decided to let go and sell the AUV. We've been SUV hunting for more than a month now but didn't limit our choices to brand name, make or reputation. As in sobrang lawak ng choices namin, jumping from one test drive to the next and showroom hopping on every free time.

Only condition ng dad ko sa pagpalit ng car: Brand new.
Condition naman ng mom ko and this is strictly my dad and I must abide to: 1.5M budget give or take

After every showroom visit and dinner discussions we crossed our list one by one and went down to two choices, parehas na korean car at parehos pa ng make. Hyundai Tucson or Hyundai Santa Fe. We dropped by at Pitstop to view the 2013 Santa fe, me and my dad loved it instantly! Sadly it's really out of our budget range, even the ones HARI will release for an automatic transmission, almost 1.8M. If budget is not an issue, will wait and get the Santa Fe in a heartbeat! Since it is, i looked at the bright side and told myself i won't be needing the extra 3rd row most of the time anyway. Tucson is more than enough for my hospital duties and FC is rated well by most users.

Good news is HARI released a new promo that slashed a 100k discount for the premium tucson gas. 1.6M went down to 1.5M which is just within the budget so im more than happy with that

If you're not too keen on a premium tucson, +1 for me sir on the Santa Fe!

Hi and appreciate your comment. he wife will definitely see this. If my wife would be sensible, then choosing a car who have been much easier. Sad to say that my wife, being in her late 30's is still part of the populace that thinks big cars are safe cars and more "sosyal". I have tried to educate her so many times but she keeps on going back to her usual impulsive and heart over mind thinking. I've actually given-up on helping her choose since they fall on deaf ears naman hahaha. Forgive me nancy (my wife) if you're reading this ...peace tayo.

So now, i let her be and choose na lang. The best thing i salvaged out of this was having convinced her in looking at the the Korean car brands. And that was when i showed her the Santa Fe....the rest that followed was history. Will be going to pitstop to check an actual unit.

Your choice is not bad at all...perfect for your needs.

I'll have to admit that the new Santa Fe is quite a looker. Good design, Good Interior design and features (i would say balanced naman and not really over the top for the grade we're looking at). Monocoque Body with a CRDi + VGT engine(this is my personal preference). The 3rd row is a plus but i doubt it's inhabitable since were still getting the SWB. My wife wanted space, then she gets space.
