February 19th, 2012 08:49 AM #161kAYA KO snabi na ngfefeeling ang nissan urban at ung ibang hi-ace kc ung iba nilalagay nila sa net wieght ng van nla eh 2200kg.. eh smantalang 1600kg lng nman payload nila... parang gusto pa nila pantayan ang payload ng isuzu nhr truck at canter ng mitsu.. anu gusto nila palabasin db? those 2 are not even truck based.. ung isuzu i-van lng tlaga.. oo ms mabagal tlg isuzu kesa sa nissan..saludo ako jan... wt do u expect sa truck based vehicles db? even ung latest nila na d-max at alterra still belongs to the number1 truck maker/engine disel producer...
nhr flexi truck/and i-van(with proper seat configuration)can be a people hauler/delivery truck at the same time.. ang hi-ace at urban mostly o halos pantao lng yan.. oo it can serve u but only in a single purpose.. since its payload is lower.. and hndi lang centro ang partner ng isuzu, almzora din.. sa mga bus nga nila almazora body..well i think ms ok ung almazora hehe... and yours can pull an 18 wheeler?well if thats true, maybe isuzus can pull up an 80tonner truck(isuzu's largest giga truck).. syempre isuzus were made up to the most extreme heavy duty hauling than the medium level of nissan and toyota..
for ourselves maybe we can say if ur urvan or hi ace is just a 15 seater van, pero it has done the work for you, u can say nga tlga heavy duty na un for us.. but in general view medium sized hauler lng tlg yun.. but if u want a pure blooded extreme duty hauler, isuzu is the right one... 2nd nlng dun ung mitsubishi and others goes 3rd, 4th, etc...
well urvan is quite fast with 18 pax, but hi-ace has a lot more comfort to offer and cooler aircon than ur urvan.. sorry to say, based on riding on those vans.... i thik aadvantage of urban over hi-ace is the payload... because hi ace is more heavier

February 19th, 2012 08:59 AM #162ung isuzu kasi, un can use it more than what u can expect than nissans and toyota.... true nmn talaga na isuzu especially nhr truck is a people hauler and delivery truck at the same time.. it can be both..kasi it is designed for heavy duty use... khit mgtanong tanong ka.. pag diesel na ssakyan at gusto ng part time business o business minded, mostly sasagot sayo isuzu... mostly ha... let's say 50%... ang isuzu hndi na kelangan kabitan ng "diesel" gaya ng nissan-diesel,toyota-diesel,mitsubishi-diesel engine.. ung isuzu=eto ibg sabihin nyan...isuzu=truck=diesel engine.. db pg isuzu pa lng sinasabi parang dambuhalang truck na pumapasok sa isip natin.. pansin natin wla ng sedan ang isuzu.. auv-pick up-trucks-buses lng cla... mostly diesel..or diesel pure.. anu nga eh gaya ng sabi mo mabagal.... maingay.... old school engine.... but its a like a bullet proof vest....... even expert mechanics agree with it..

Heavy duty still doesnt explain why isuzu just blanked out on important details or just made half hearted engineering efforts to solve pretty simple problems like door trims cracking and door jambs interfering with normal door operation. Or even the appropriate lugs for the wheels installed, and can your driver or gas boy instantly do kpa to psi conversions? Because the tire pressure placard is only listed in kpa while most gas station machines display psi.
And again, load carrying capacity is not the only measure of being heavy duty. It also includes other stuff like systems redundancy, field serviceability, etc. its the reason why my daily non van ride is the preferred civilian vehicle for armor upfitting. Because its heavy duty from the factory floor.
Just what I said, the nhr isnt a bad truck. But Isuzu didnt put much brains into turning it into a van. And its the only one they offer unless they make me a better one to test drive. I just say it how it is. Im not a car magazine writer that has to please advertisers. Thats the unit i, and most other buyers, got and so i test it and write my driving and walk around impressions as such too.
There was a time I was given a chance to use and drive a pretty old Crosswind xuvi. Reliability was just the same with the other units and though my mechanic can easily fix it, he wasnt really having a hard time with the other vehicles in the pool too save for the Patrol Y61.

Once again, stop using text speak in this forum. And like a bullet proof vest, people do not need to use it everyday, you certainly do not use a bullet proof vest to the mall or to work (unless you're in the security business). Times have changed, comfort & safety are now important factors along with reliability and durability.

We know that the brand isuzu is a popular brand in diesel engines because if I recall from the first diesel engines that are popular that some of us are still using until now like C190,C240,4BA1,4BC1,4BE1 espesially the 4BC2 and 4BD1 which isuzu from these engine makes them very popular, but then now some of the commercial vehicle manufacturers have already show that they can also make the same quality with isuzu engines, so we cannot stick to one brand even we sacrifice the comfort and safety.

February 19th, 2012 08:27 PM #167kung sa general point of view, isuzu trucks from nhr/f series/giga/elf are number1 extreme ultimate heavy duty trucks... with extra heavy duty reliability without compromising fuel efficiency... isuzu nhr trucks daw can squeeze 23people including driver without overloading.. successful cla dun.. PERO tama ka mr otep, mjo my mga comments nga sa isuzu i-van....
first ung swing type door nila-should've been sliding for more practical... second, ground clearance of the van body is low.. third (tama ka pala) hndi nga foldable ung last row of seats(5 rows ata i-van).. pero kung ako my pera, bbili ako ng nhr(3.8T) truck lang msmo,or nkr(4.5T) taz ppagawan ko nlng ng van body sa centro o almazora-papacustomize ko sa 23-27 seater..Boom!but everything else especially fuel efficiency and reliability of engine=hands down.. malupit yan..
but 4 our personal point of view, yah tama ka nga...even sa suzuki alto can be a heavy duty for u if it has served u in ur specific purpose... khit medium duty lang ang mga hi-ace at urban pero nakatulong sayo especially sa service business mo, khit mas mababa ang payload at more on people lang, it can also be a heavy duty for us.. cguro nga lamang lang sa hakutan load capacity ang isuzu compare to others specifically to toyota and nissan but what more important just wat u are trying to say nga, it served u well.. ok na un..... psnsya..
lastly, cguro ung ginawa ng ISUZU sa i-van is gusto nila ilapit sa tao ung mga specialty nila-ung trucks.. inisip cguro ng mga tao na isuzu trucks are just for delivery/hauling.. kaya cgro nila binaba sa van ung nhr truck pra mpakita na pwde din cla mkpgsabayan sa mga van..kasi un lng wala cla... pansin cguro nila dami2x na urban at hi ace ah.. eto pantatapat natin=ivan.. pero pgpsensyahan nyo na kasi newbie lng cla sa pag gawa ng van(1st tym eh).. auv/pick-up/trucks/buses specialty nila eh.. naisip ko nga wat if almazora gumawa ng body?could it be better?no offense sana sa centro you are good din naman.. wat u tink mr otep?

February 19th, 2012 08:46 PM #169naging institusyon na ang isuzu sa kanilang famous pure (direct injection) engines.. maybe nissan, toyota, mitsu just followed... still there is no doubt isuzu engines are still more superior than others.. super tried and tested sabi nga.. nkapag produce na nga daw ang isuzu ng engines for suzuki,mazda,honda... at cguro di natin ikakaila na nakipagcollaborate ang Toyota sa Isuzu to produce a diesel engine car.. so we cannot deny na supreme reliability ng isuzu diesel engine.. biruin mo, ung number 1 car maker tapped the number 1 truck maker? no questions na dun.. sayang lang di natuloy kc ngconcentrate ang toyota sa hybrid cars nila.. nwei kung speed, comfort need mo, bka mgdalawang isip ka sa isuzu.. your right kiantot... sa safety ahm safe driving na lng hehe

Like what I said, ok naman yung NHR as a truck. Pero hindi maganda transformation niya to van. Ang alam ko, even when they showed it sa Isuzu truck show sa PICC a few years back nag comment na yung mga tao. But I guess Isuzu and Centro are confident with their product to consider what people then had to say.
Mas ok pa nga yung pre-launch units, mags ng D-Max ang nakakabit. Eh may lug nut cover yung D-Max so hindi kitang bare yung lug nut na kinabit. Maybe the production alloy wheels are cheaper than original D-Max alloy wheels?
Maybe they should consider another body builder or at least consulting with IBE (Isuzu Body Engineering) of Japan to come up with a more competitive product. And they should re-engineer systems that will be affected with the modifications to keep everything functional.
