dun po samin madaming passahero ayaw sakyan ang isuzu hi van... super nakakahilo daw.... pinaka matagtag daw sa lahat ng nasakyan nilang van..

matibay talaga.... truck yan eh... kahit bato o bakal ikarga mo dyan kaya nyan...

kaso nga lang the original design of the isuzu truck is for heavy hauling and not for transporting people....

Isuzu may make great powertrains but unfortunately most of us buy vehicles as a whole. Not just on their powertrain. Isuzu sucks at making the rest of the vehicle probably because they are too busy admiring their powertrains.

Even their most expensive offering, the alterra has some pretty basic functional elements dumbed down like not offering three point safety belts for the third row and a second row that doesnt even fold to make more luggage space. Maybe they will just say to the buyer not to mind those since they are the great isuzu and just think about their engines.

And most of us dont need the most heavy duty offering because we actuall use the vehicles within their prescribed limits and we actually do maintenance. We just want a unit that is safe, reliable, has intelligent features, and is comfortable. And for a passenger van, the ivan just doesnt make the grade for me iregardless of what motor it has.

most of the jeepney uses a 4ba1 engine which has the same displacement that 4ja1 has (2.8L). Considering mas mabigat pa ang kaha ng jeep kaysa sa kaha ng IVan kaya kaya-kaya i-carry ng 4ja1 ang kaha + passenger ng Ivan,

WHAT's GREAT about the I-VAN: It's an Izusu, Truck based-flatform kaya sure na matibay, reliability and durablity connected on its badge, Fuel-efficient and I heard that it has an overdrive function on its 5 speed manual tranny.

WHAT DOES IT NEED: More features for its price, a larger engine dispalcement (may be 3.3 or 4.3 liter engine will do, just like 4BE1 or 4JX1 turbo intercooled).

Just a reminder that this thread is about Nissan Urvan or Toyota Hiace Commuter.

While were at it, truck based plastforms may be durable but trucks are for carrying cargo and not people. People would prefer to ride in something much more comfortable.

Kaya kung sa kaya. Even a 64 horsepower lite ace can be made to tow a trailer. Pero kayang kaya? Nope. Ive driven the ivan and ive tried a jeepney already. They can run yes. But barely. On the open road its no wonder jeepneys are rolling roadblocks that you have to overtake. And im usually just driving the family van. Nothing sporty nor fast. Being able to move under its own power is simply not enough. Even trying to merge onto the national highway requires prayer in the ivan simply because it takes so much time for it to match the road speed of other vehicles plying the road.

Papalitan ko na thread title? Hehehe

Pahabol. Lahat halos ng transmission ay overdrive ang top gear. Any gear with a ratio of less than 1 is an overdrive gear already. I cant name a current passenger car tranny whose top ratio is still 1 or greater. Manual or automatic.

Ibang comparison naman siguro yung truck sa Urvan at commuter, Even the same displacement ang 4JA1 at 4BA1 hindi pa din sila magkaparehas ng workhorse, kung yung 4BA1 ilalagay mo sa hilander or crosswind, hindi kasya at siguradong masisira ang suspension at chassis sa harap overpower at overweight, mukhang mismatch nga yung engine ng I-Van, lalo na may aircon, sigurado pag nasira yung makina, much better change engine na lang

hehehe,...oo nga sir, mismatch na medyo sapat na rin or we can say na "sakto" lang, no allowance yung displacement,

Yung sanden aircon super lamig.

Better Passenger Van? Nissan Urvan Or Toyota Hi-ace Commuter or others?
