    Hi peeps,

Is it worth shelling out the extra 125k+ pesos to get the 1.5L variant, based on the engine specs:

    1.3 E M/T 1.5 G 5-Speed M/T
    Max Output 90HP / 6,000 rpm 102HP / 6,000 rpm
    Max Torque 117Nm / 4,400 rpm 136Nm / 4,400 rpm
    Price 703,000 828,000

The 1.5 G variant does have driver+passenger airbags though. tia

imho. the engine power difference is not worth it... unless you are planning to load it with heavy loads and kung parati kang aakyat ng bagyo.
the airbags though is worth it.

Hindi naman dramatic ang difference sa power pero kung sensitive ka, mararamdaman mo ang difference. Pero IMO mas matipid para sakin ang 1.5. Pro malaking difference na yung sa torque ha. Mas kailangan mo yun over the HP.

Yep, mainly city driving lang naman sir. i don't expect to carry a lot of load/people, but i'd like to have the extra space just in case

    Alarm system around 1.5k
Horn - 1k-2k depends on your choice.

No substitute for safety. Airbags palang sulit na.

Kapag city driving lang, baka not so important though.

A friend of mine mentioned that the entry level, "pang taxi" avanza's chassis has thinner steel, compared to the other variants. How true?

Maybe better insulation but sheetmetal should be the same.

I bet your friend based his statement from the fact that the Avanza J has thinner door trimmings than the E/G variants. However, it's no way indicative of how thick the steel behind the car is. Also, I don't think it makes economic sense to have a different line to create a completely different chassis for the lower-end variants.
