Thanks for the replies. Cinonsider ko lang tong accent kasi diesel. Feeling ko sobrang laki nung tipid dahil dun tsaka yung gas accent is fuel efficient to begin with. Medyo naturn off ako kasi parang ginawang money making scheme. Mukhang back to lancer na ulit ako. By end of the month or january pa naman ako magpapalit

The local distributor is getting greedy. Eventually this will backfire on the products.

hyundai and kia is being sued for their lies about fuel economy. and try to check the accent forum thread here, napaka sinungaling ng hyundai dahil lakas sa gas ng accent and even the knocking sound di pa naayos. (no idea about the diesel version)

And it's the same model that's being used as taxi units.

Ano naman kasi ang aasahan mo sa karamihan ng taxi drivers (and operators) when it comes to maintenance? Taxi drivers especially are the first ones who will actually tamper with their units just to increase profitability.

Asking the private Accent owners instead makes more sense.

true, but in the accent thread same lang din mga reklamo nila.

anyways how come the vios which has been the favorite car to be used as taxi for how many years ay hindi mauusok(but the hood is always partially opened kasi 24/7 takbo nila and takot mga drivers magover heat) while suddenly itong accent mauusok...and mag two two years pa lang sila sa market?

a car being used as a taxi, one must be reliable all the time... dito lang naman sa pilipinas ginawa yang idea na yan na cheap pag ginawang taxi.

Looks wise naman... I have to admit mas gusto ko ang itsura ng Lancer EX. Mas macho. Mas panlalaki. Pero hindi naman pangit ang Accent hatch, and its what's inside that counts.
the primary concern of taxi operators is price tag and their fuel expenses....

IMO if its going to be a diesel and the price tag is below 950k asahan mo na gagawin taxi po yan....

i own a Hyundai Accent 2009 CRDi.. and to answer your question.. Mostly ang mga mauusok na Accent CRDi is because of faulty Turbos.. Di kasi sanay mag alaga ng turbo mostly ang mga taxi drivers.. and yes the other reason is maintenance.. don't compare vios sa accent crdi..

Well maintained CRDi engine and proper cooling down before turning the engine off will suffice para di maging mausok ang crdi mo.

TSK TSK were not on the same page im talking about the new accent(gas) not the old diesel taxi model tsk tsk tsk marami ng bagong accent na taxi service, na makikita sa manila- diesel will always be diesel kindly back read para matunton yung topic.

FYI- the old accent crdi is the only thing i like among the hyundai models, first mura second fuel economy and third mabilis humataw. yung mga bagong labas ng hyundai na accent walang kwenta.

true anyway kahit gawin taxi yan, we should get rid of the IDEA of the car being cheap since pang taxi lang BE MATURE people

exception the only cheap auto is an intsik mad auto! mas reliable pa mga handwork na pinoy jeepney (using japan surplus parts)

anyway go for lancer ex 1.6 ang mitsu matagal magpalit ng design and talagang value for money yung hyundai baka magsisi ka pa sa mga bagong models nila... untested pa dami pang problema nawala pagkareliability

On topic pa naman si bro dexdrex since new Accent diesel hatch ang pinag-uusapan dito. I've seen and ridden in many Accent cabs. You will immediately know if the car is well maintained or not. There are Accent cabs that, despite being 2009 and above (as reflected in the registration number and presence of blue optitron gauges) that sound VERY unhealthy indeed, belch black smoke, and the body looks very battered. But then there are older Accent cabs (with traditional green gauges and tape deck radio) that run very, very smoothly still. Even their headlights are still clear!

And then it is also a guarantee that this car is proven to be reliable, fuel efficient, has a big supply of spare parts and with almost all mechanics familiar with it. In other countries there are Cefiro, Teana and Accord cabs (yung bago pa ah!), Merc and BMW cabs... And then yung mga tunay na cheap na China cars... Do you see them as cabs?
