    Here are the pointers:
    * Mostly city driving
    * Maximum of 4 people (including 1 toddler), but mostly just 1 (office) or 3 (weekends) people
    * Low maintenance costs
    * Low fuel consumption
    * (Interior) Boot space good to have but not life or death
    * Higher driving (eye) level better

    Other pointers:
    * Size of Ranger for parking and maneuvering is fine
    * Slight modding would be good - mags, slight lift
    * Coming from an A/T, going for an M/T for fuel consumption and cheaper price
    * 3 years loan, so minimum of 3 years ownership

    Which is better out of the two?

    I will choose the montero rather
    than the Ranger cause owners say
    there is turbo lag on the 2.2l ranger and
    and the montero is better
    cause you have a babby on board,easy acces to the rear compartment kung kailangan magpalit ng diaper
    si baby
    BTW what happen to your other thread did you cancel the used explorer??

    Two different class SUV & Pickup. I pick the montero its just a better all around vehicle. Flexibilty in terms of usage/ needs.

    Hi sir, were on the exactly the same shoes last year!! hehe

    Summary:
    My first choice Ranger pero nag hesitate ako nung tumanggi si GF kaya napa-scan ako dito sa tsikot ginamit ko ang search button para makapag research about ranger kaya nag strada nalang ako in the end.

    Montero sana kaso natakot ako sa issue nya na sudden acceleration hindi naman 100% confirmed pero ayaw ko mag risk madalas kasi ako gagamit nun sasakyan. saka same engine naman sila at masmataas power to weight ratio ng strada vgt vs montero non vgt
    (nasa 1.2m lang kasi target ko eh nasa 1.4m na yun montero vgt)

    Fuel consumption = city driving ko with light to heavy traffic 4-5 php per km (8-10 km/L) ako sa strada knowing na A/T ito so mas tipid pa sa M/T
    Maintenance = kung oil etc... mura naman basta sa labas ng casa ka bibili or mag papagawa
    Parts = masmadaming alternatives sa strada/montero compare sa ranger and much cheaper
    durability = madaming issues ang ranger ngayon sir na til now wala paring kasiguraduhan kung kelan maaayos pero kung willing ka mag risk go for it sir basta masaya ka sa ranger ^__^
    height = kahit saan sir pwede ka magpa lift either simple lift lang na mura or yun change suspension and spring setup na medyo mahal
    pero ako sir mags lang muna and tires na malaki satisfied na ako sa tinaas ng ride ko.

    montero. di mo naman need ang pick up e. may baby pa na passenger so more comfort for the baby. and mommy syempre.

    suggest ko lang na lagyan mo ng wheel spacers on all 4 wheels kahit 1 inch lang, pang-counter sa high center of gravity.

    Montero definitely. Don't buy a pickup unless you need the pickup bed, otherwise you'll be living with an extra 1 meter of length that's a pain to park and maneuver in traffic with.

    Only plus point of the Ranger (or any pickup) is that it's much cheaper than the equivalent SUV.

    If you're on a tight budget and don't need 7 seats and can live with a large bed, you can get the pickup. But for majority of people, an SUV is a better fit.
