Maganda talaga sa rough roading ang montero you can drive up to 80kph and not feel the heavy bumps of the rough road, very smooth kahit gravelly roads. Very far from driving an Alterra and a Hilux on similar roads, masyadong matigas ang suspension at bouncy, can hardly drive more than 60kph. I believe ganun din sa Everest, passed one along the rough portion of Andaya Highway, hardly negotiating the road at most 40kph. Kita mo agad na tumatalbog yung likod sa mga lubak.
Ganun din sa detour ng nasira yung tulay ng Tabaco-Ligao road, sa rough road kami pinadaan sa gilid ng sapa, ang sarap i-drive, kayang kaya, although kaya din ng Hilux, but not with the same comfort as the montero.
