Are they even within the same price range? If so, I'd go with the Genesis.

Civic 2.0 and focus I think same range (1.2M). Additional of 150k, you can get genesis coupe.

    For what purpose?

The Genesis Coupe is a totally different car from the two. For one, it has two less doors. Also much wider so it's more difficult to maneuver in traffic. Low ride height means you're vulnerable in the pothole-ridden rodes of the metro. It's a sports car after all, so it trades practicality for looks, performance, and handling.

Aside from the 150k premium in SRP, chances are, you won't be keeping that Genesis Coupe as stock. Sooner or later you'll be changing its rims, adding a spoiler or some kit, perhaps even some performance parts. Maintenance won't come as cheaply as a compact sedan either. Point is, in the long run, you'll be spending much more in owning a Genesis Coupe than a 2-liter compact.

If you're looking for a toy car for the weekend, a lot of cheaper options are available in the secondhand market. Even a Skyline R32 GT-R can be bought and restored to track-ready form for less than a million.

Now if you're looking for a car that you could use every day, just go for the Focus. Here are some stuff that the Focus has that the Civic doesn't:

    - Traction control (ESP)
    - Front and rear parking sensors
    - Torque Vectoring Control (a pseudo-LSD)
    - Hill-Launch Assist (HLA)
    - Active City Stop (automatically applies the brakes when an unavoidable collision is imminent at speeds below 35kph)
    - Active Park Assist (automatically steers for you in a parallel parking slot)
    - Blind-spot Information System (BLIS, indicates through the side mirrors when a vehicle might be unseen in your blind spot)
    - Active grille shutters
    - Automatic headlamps
    - Automatic rain-sensing wipers
    - 1-touch power windows even for the passenger
    - Power retractable side mirrors
    - 8-way power driver's seat
    - 60/40 split-fold rear seats
    - Dual-zone automatic climate control (Civic only has single-zone climate control)
    - Sony head unit w/ 9 speakers (Civic only has 6)
    - Microsoft Sync (Bluetooth control for mobile devices, voice control)
    - Moonroof
    - Push-button ignition

Other stuff to note include the fact that the Civic 2.0 EL only has an R20 engine (SOHC) and not the venerable K20 (DOHC) found in the previous FD Civic. This means the engine's less tuner-friendly, though it might be more fuel efficient. Even in stock form, the Focus' Duratec GDI engine already makes more power and torque that's accessible at a lower rev range.

After trying out both cars, I also felt that the Focus was more solidly-built - from the hefty doors, to the quality and design of the switchgear, to the feel of the steering wheel.

The only thing I don't like about the Titanium+ Focus is that it's running on 16" rims, which look ordinary. The Sport+ with its 17" rims definitely looks more high-end and attractive.
