In general, I would advise for people of working age to spend only what they can earn, instead of still relying too much on their parents/family.

I guess the only exception for me is housing since whether nakatira ka sa kanila or hindi, same lang naman yung gastos (you can always help out with utilities).

Pero bahala ka TS, if you really wanna "borrow" money for a car, just make sure you can maintain it and hopefully pay for it.

For a fact, panalo ka lang sa pagbili ng pre-owned vehicle if you buy it in cash. Kahit bago pa yan, instant depreciation kagad yan. Banks charge interest rates for used cars almost double of the interest rates of brand new ones. Lalo na kung lagpas na 5 years old na yung car, konti na lang yung banks na magaapprove nyan. And during those times nasa kanila ang advantage, so lumalabas take-it-or-leave-it yung ibibigay na interest rate sayo.

Tama yan utangin mo nalang sa parents or kapatid mo, then buy it in cash. Tapos sa kanila mo na lang 'hulugan'.

Naexperience ko na din yan dati, nagcocommute ako from malolos to taguig. 3 hours ang average time of travel ko one way.

If the unit came sa area na malapit sa beach... usual problem is the body.

I want to take the advantage of borrowing money sa family ko. Yun naman ginagawa ko when I need to buy something then sa kanila ko hinuhulugan. I shifted my interest sa vans/SUVs dahil sa gas type (diesel), space, and purpose (mas marami ako pag gagamitan).

We travel naman madalas so i guess na rin going for cars na pampamilya.
    My options now are Delica/Revo/Adveture.

Now, you only get the Delica if you are 200% sure that it has a very high quality conversion, complete papers, solid chassis and a fresh engine. Try to avoid models with sunroofs as they are prone to leak. As much as possible, try to get a manual. And also expect that this car would not be as fuel efficient as a Revo or Adventure. If you ever plan on getting this, always visit a prospect with the company of a seasoned mechanic who has experience in dealing with converted cars. Getting a bad unit may lead to a bottomless money pit, and you may end up spending more than the amount you spent in buying the unit at the first place.

Those "2007" Sportages that you see are actually grey-market imports of 90s Sportages.

Did you even open the links and read the details?

If something looks too good to be true, it most likely is.

I'd suggest you listen to what others here have advised you - under 200k (including repairs) it's hard to get anything better than a 90s compact. If you want an AUV, that will be about 250k+.

I agree with others to just borrow from your relatives/parents to buy something that DEPRECIATES its value, at least malamang di ka bibigyan ng interest niyan, unlike sa bank, may interest na, sayang pa kasi yung value ng inutang mo eh hindi na sasabay sa pinaggamitan mo (mababa na ang value).

In my personal experience, inuna ko ang BAHAY (mas importante ito kaysa anumang bagay, tumataas ang VALUE at habang buhay kang pagsisilbihan) lalo na kung may SARILI ka nag PAMILYA (take note SARILI -- kaya di ka na dapat nakasandal sa MAGULANG mo - I am very sorry kung offensive, but reality hurts..). After niyan, nagipon ako para naman sa kotse but UNEXPECTEDLY nagamit ko for hospital bills when an angel came to our life (my son yehey!). I considered borrowing from the bank, pero the interest is way too high, tapos bigla akong pinalad at nag-offer ang relative ko na pahiramin ako ng pera.

Dami makikita jan na swak sa budget mo na 150K+ which I would recommend,
    Honda ESI (115K - 145K)
    Toyota Corolla GLi (Bigbody, 100K - 135K)
    Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI (itlog/pizza, 90K - 150K)
    Nissan Sentra EX/SuperSaloon (95K - 125K)
    Mazda 323 Familia (100K - 125K)

Madami ka din Car Clubs/Groups na pwede salihan for support and information (parts, pagawaan, maintenance etc)

Final note lang TS, YES, it's better to get a New/Newer Car since it's risky (and takes a lot of guts) to buy a 10+ year old car, but if you are well prepared for it, you'll have one hell of a ride
