February 4th, 2013 01:21 AM #31The B13 Sentra is a very good car. ECCS engine despite being 20 years old, is still considered decent by today's standards, and fast in this application due to the B13's very light body weight. The only major shortcoming I see with this car is the limited space. If I have to drive this, I will have to slide the driver's seat all the way back, which leaves pretty much no legroom for the rear passengers. But then this is still a 20 year old car so be on the lookout for problems, or you may end up with a bottomless money pit.

February 4th, 2013 11:45 AM #32You sir really knows a lot about cars. Very very helpful on newbies like me.
So what are the major things that I should look at upon viewing?
Any known issues regarding this car? I also plan on getting one this month (depends on my license application hehe).
How about its FC?

I think gas consumption nasa 8km/l city...

February 4th, 2013 09:25 PM #39Normally after getting a 2nd hand car, you bring it to the talyer for a thorough maintenance session wherein you change the engine oil, transmission oil, oil filter, air filter and top up the brake fluid, power steering fluid and radiator coolant. Take note of the mileage at which you do this and then change the engine oil every 5tkms and filters every 10tkms. Then you check the brakes if they are worn out, if the brake pads need replacing or even the rotors themselves. If steering doesn't run straight or trembles at high speeds, you have them do alignment and balancing. As they do this they will also be able to find out if any suspension or steering parts need replacement.
Get the most fresh, most original unit you can find. Do not be blinded by "bagong hilamos" or new paint jobs. Some may shine like a new car but are as abused as a cab. The best is to get one that looks fresh, and yet still with the original factory paint job. Considering the age of this car, this is a good indicator that the car was well taken cared of. Stay away from those with heavy modifications and high performance engine swaps if all you want is a reliable, problem-free car.Last edited by GTi; February 4th, 2013 at 09:27 PM.
