kung ok naman yung head unit mo and wala naman static yun na muna gamitin mo instead of spending money on your head unit. get a pair of targa subs with a good box and a good ampli. (sometimes you can get good second hand amps) or you can go for the brand USA - ultra sound acoustics. after that get yourself a pair of ryan audio separates. ok na yun for a beginner

just a question guys... i was advised that ickers speakers were ok too... can you comment on this?

i'm more on the SQ part of setting up too.. i'm planning to replace both my front and rear speakers with kickers speaker. maybe minus the amps because of a tight budget... maybe to follow na lang.

hope you can help me on this... thanks.

kahit iwanan mo munang stock yung rear speakers mo. ok na yan! invest ka sa magandang seps tapos to follow na lang kahit 10" na sub. kahit SQ habol mo, kailangan mo pa rin ng bass sa system mo.

hi there, la kasing stock yung ride ko, medyo bitin lang talaga yung speakers na nakakabit sa ride ko. its a lancer EL.

so you still think its a bad idea. 3way speakers lang yung naklagay sa likod, yung old pioneer na hindi flat. yungmay sariling casing.

hope you can still give me more input... thanks

for the meantime, pwede ka siguro bumili ng 6x9s kung wala ka pang immediate plans of having a sub installed. pero bubutasin yung rear deck mo para magkaspace for the new speakers. you can shop around for a good set of 2nd hand 6x9 speakers nalang para tipid. that's what i did ;)

I haven't seen any recommendations for pioneer seps...bakit kaya?

I am planning to acquire pioneer seps 3-way and 2 way kasi e.

does this sound correct? please advise on what I intend to do:

    vehicle is Gen1 Paj

    HU 4x40 watts

3 way seps front doors (hehe..seps ba yung sama-sama yung bass, mid at high sa iisang speaker?)

    ***what are coax?

sa rear doors: no speakers (?) nasa likod pa kasi yung factory speakers, so....dun na lang
yung 2 way na seps(????) o coax (kindly differentiate)

tapos...I wanna get 2 x 8" subs to place at the back.

ngayon...paano ang mga amps? ano ang power ng amps na kailangan at ilan at anong klase po?

Does this sound right? or ano ang kulang? or what is wrong there?

Kasi po, may nakita akong mga 2nd hand HU at amps...tapos ang speakers (3 way and 2 way) ang bago, May 120w, 240w...etc. I would like to purchase them next week..please advise on what must I look for...para ipapakabit ko na lang dyan...

Finally, kanino ko ito ipapakabit dyan...na mahusay!? (in other words...malinis)
    Para sumaya ako!

    Maraming salamat po sa kanila!

    pparado:

seps = separates, as in magkahiwalay na tweeter at woofer/midrange. Kung 2 way, dalawang pirasong speakers per channel, bale 4, 2 left 2 right.

Coax = coaxial. The two speakers are placed on top of one another, thus sharing the same "axis". Usually 2 way, ilalim yung woofer/mid-range, sa ibabaw yung tweeter.

    HTH.

If anyone could post links to any on-line glossary, that might be helpful. Matagal na rin akong hindi updated.

Anyone here used MB Quart Discus series?

kicker seps speakers are ok pero mas gusto ko ang tunog ng mb quart and ryan audio.

mag try ka na lang ng 6x9 sa likod tapos lagyan mo ng box para buo yung tunog.

pag may pera ka na bumili ka na lang nung sub station. (all in one, box with sub and built in amp.)

Got this news from one of the car audio website here.

    MB Quart - Fakes Available….

MB Quart has been a formidable player in the car audio industry for a long time. It went down on its knees last year and has to be propped-up by Rockford Inc. During the “turbulence” months, fake DSD 216 and DSC 216 have been making their rounds in Asia. Could this be the primary reason for the substantial fall in prices of MB Quart speakers ? Some MB Quart die-hards swear though that the quality has indeed fallen. This is a clear departure from their claim – Expect The Best in various media advertisements. An urgent “cleaning” of the markets is needed or a later “resurrection” of brand image is the order of the day.

    the_wildthing: Maraming salamat po!

    ok then....sabay-sabay!

paki bigyan nyo naman po ako ng idea kung ano ang dapat kong bilhin/gawin:

HU: Eclipse CD3404 (yan ang plano kong bilhin kasi may mp3 na at cd-r/rw ready na...2nd hand e) meron din mga pioneer HU

    Speakers:
the choices: puro pioneer na 2 way and 3 way coaxials (may 120w and 240w and less than that, of different sizes...and wattages. ilan at anu-ano ang dapat kong bilhin) bago ito...
wala pong sep na tweeter, dyan na lang siguro.

Subs: 2 pcs 8" Eclipse 400w each (wala pang bahay)

Amps: (paano ako mamimili nito? di ako marunong...watts, etc) what should i look for...or look out for?

    Finally...saan ako magpapakabit nito?

    (ang saya-saya!)

ganun ba? e di isang 400w na lang na sub...benta ko yung isa...kasi they are sold in pairs.

since mga 2nd hand ang amps dito....the price ranges are: $40 - $150....pero ang nais ko po sanang malaman ay: what power/wattage ng amp ang babagay sa mga nasabi ko....

    ilang channels....ilan ang wattage....etc...

    (clueless ako e)

may iba-iba klasing amps dun....mga nakuha sa mga na-wreck na sasakyan...kaya ano ang nominal na mga specs that i need to look for...so that...happy!

    vehicle is gen 1 paj

get something that is in line with the RMS requirement of your sub. ok mga kicker impulse or RF punch series. you can also try DLS amps. 1 2channel amp with the right RMS wattage rating would do wonders to power your 8 incher IMO

    Thank you very much ssaloon,

So, I should find a 2-channel amp that will power the sub....ok.

how about the speakers that are on the doors and rear? will i need amps for those as well?

is it correct to say that if there are 4 door speakers (ok na ba ang puro 3-way yun?), then I would need a 4channel amplifier that will match the RMS of the speakers?

what can a multichannel amp do? pwede bang isang multichannel amp na lang to power 4pcs of 3-way speakers (sa front and back) and then the same amp to power the subs? (kasi, yung 3-ways will be tig-120watts kunwari, tapos, 400watts nga yung sub....anong power ng multichannel amp ang dapat kong kunin?)

di ba "tabingi" ang tunog dahil yung mga 3-way ay 120watts...tapos yung sub ay 400watts...paano ba ito binabalanse?

(pasencia na po kayong talaga...nais ko lang mabili yung tama...para maikabit sa pag-uwi ko)

    pparado,

naisip ko lang wag ka na lang kaya mag amp sa mga door speakers mo? kung high output naman yung had unit mo baka kaya na yan and mas madali mo matimpla yung front and rear speakers . Just focus on the amp for your sub. its a much simpler set up and wala ka masyado problemahin sa static.

if i were you, i'd get a 2 channel amp to power your seps and have the HU power your rear speakers nalang.

    another mas magastos option.

get 1 amp for your separates
get another amp for your subs
get 2 cross over to balance these speakers

    Ako rin pwede magtanong?

Have a stock Alpine TDA-7547(?) on the Corolla GLi 98. Already got an AiNet changer CHA-S624. Speakers are still stock, and no amp yet.

During installation I discovered my HU has only one set of pre-outs for rear.

Was going for the basic setup for clarity and SQ only, so I was originally planning on HU-AMP-satellites and 1 sub. I originally intended to retain my HU and spend on other stuff like speakers and amps, kasi gumagana pa naman.

Now since I only have one set of pre-outs, which is more advisable: a) replace the HU with a newer model with 2 or more preouts, or b) retain the HU and buy a x-over to handle the separation (pwede ba ito?)

One constraint: I do not have a deep pocket, but would like to spend on quality products.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks kicker15,

I think I will go for the 'mas matipid' option. hehe....

so, kung may 2 pairs of pre-outs yung HU: iiwan na lang ba na nakalambitin pala ang isa? and the other will connect to the amp, right?

and the HU will just connect directly to the 3-way speakers??? (4 of them)

The amp to acquire, must be of a certain power range, enough to power or drive the wattage of the sub, correct? (if the sub is 400w, pwede na ba yung 200w na single or 2 channel amp?)

    * i truly appreciate your patience!

if the HU is rated at 40wx4....will it sufficiently drive 120w and/or 240w 3-way speakers? OR must a different kind/set of speakers be acquired? (like 2-way para sa likod, at 3-way para sa harap)

    Muchos Gracias!
