After spending some time setting up the DSP settings, I'm really loving the sound quality of the Kicker set installed on the CRV which I posted previously.

All songs sound much fuller now. The sound stage is really good for songs which are vocals-heavy (i.e. acoustic, mellow), then there's thunderous bass for hip-hop beats. I also like that there's enough clarity to hear different instruments for alt rock songs.

Planning to get a similar setup for the Civic. Is 20k enough for a decent set of 6 speakers plus a sub, powered by a decent amp? Will use stock HU since too many controls are integrated into it.

20k is a stretch but you can check with Jeff Tan of Araneta Car Accessories for budget meal setups. 20k for a pair of separates plus a subwoofer together with the wirings and stock HU integration kit would be doable but you need to spend extra for the amp.

    What's a reasonable budget?

The Kicker setup was around 40k all-in but that was installed by Honda. Expecting to get something cheaper if I have it done outside.

Kicker equipment is more on the loud side but they do have good amps. I’m not just a fan of their speakers. 40k would be good enough to get you a 2-way passive setup (separates with sub and 4-channel amp) using DLS or Focal or Morel equipment. That would also cover the wiring, installation, integration kit, and subwoofer box (sealed for less space). I suggest you visit Mickey’s Autosound and Simplesound as they are near Pasig area.

Looking to get only an underseat sub, which is sufficient for me already based on what's in the CRV. Then will replace 2 tweeters plus 4 speakers.

Mickey's is quite far (other side of Pasig from my place) but I know the place is Mecca for car audio so I'll pay them a visit someday. Thanks for the tips!

^^^ Why not spend that 10k for a much better set of speakers? Deadening is great once you want to do the whole nine yards in audio upgrade.

Check something from Hertz, Audio System, DLS, Focal, or Morel that will fit your budget. Puwede rin JBL or Infinity or Polk.

Morel maximo ultra is good and is priced around that range! If you’re open to buying second hand items, you can get 20k worth of speakers for half the price

^Bang for the buck yung Morel Maximo Ultra

    *jut703

Araneta Car Accessories has a 25k all Pioneer budget build, 40k Focal auditor build.

For underseat sub, it will cost 10k for the unit. (I think that's already the installed price)

If we'll use the package price, amplifying all the speakers and using the underseat sub will cost around 30k.

Front doors - 2 way seperates

    Rear doors - coaxials

    *techglimpse

Had 1 before. Good enough kung basic upgrade lang hanap. Maboses yung pioneer 2-way kaya ramdam na agad difference vs stock and lalo na deadened yung doors for the midbass.

Spacer lang yan. No drilling needed.

Eto nakalagay ngayon 12" jbl subs powered by gmd9601. JBL seps at stock speakers sa likod. Balak ko lagyan ng gmd9604 para terno sila ng mono amp ko.

No problem specially if you are using thick gauge power wires.
