I'm also very particular about the tactility of the touch screen - is it as responsive as a smartphone? I noticed that this HU has no knobs, so you're really dependent on the touch screen to scroll through songs. I have tens of thousands of songs on my iPod so being able to navigate through them is a must. My stock HU has a small screen but has a very nifty knob that allows me to browse through my songs easily.

Lastly, do the steering wheel audio controls of the car still work?

Oh, and does Winterpine sell 2-DIN panels for the Altis?

Touchscreen is very responsive. I have Pioneer AVH-1450DVD for the Revo and Pioneer AVH-X275BT for the ASX. Both are a joy to use. Bluetooth functionality of the X275BT is great. Really love using it for taking calls.

You can use the touchscreen to browse songs, no problem. You can also use the NEXT and BACK buttons on the left side panel. Lastly, you can use the Pioneer remote control included with the unit.

I have not found the time to setup the wheel audio control yet. But there is instructions included in the owner's manual on how to do this.

Sorry, no idea about other Winterpine products. I'd just been there two times eh. I suggest you give them a quick call.

Thanks for the info. Do they have sample head units that you can try at the shop? I wanna test it first before jumping the gun.

ok nga iyong tactile responsiveness ng pioneer touch screen 2 din head units.

i have an avh-x1750dvd on my fd and i'm immensely enjoying it.

even though technically i needed that thingamajig to mate the steering wheels controls to the hu, the tech at the shop wherei bought it from and had the unit installed just weaved his magic to make the control pads at my steering wheel work

I am planning to have my stock HU on my jazz changed for me to be able to install a back up camera, and since I am going to change it, any recommendations for a decent HU that could also improve sound quality of my stock setup? with plans of adding sub and tweeters next... really have no idea about sound setups... thanks for inputs..

P12,500 with install. Winterpine, Araneta Ave, QC. Yup, compatible yan.

Or buy mo sa Ginza Audio Concept, 50-D Tuazon St, QC. P11,500 lang.

Pioneer HU. Decent sound, reasonable price. It supports back up camera. You can add amp, sub, tweeters. Model selection depends sa features na gusto mo and of course budget.

Entry level (2-DIN) starts with AVH-175DVD and AVH-275BT if you need Bluetooth.
Next up are AVH-X1750DVD and AVH-X2750BT; AVH-X4750DVD and AVH-X5750BT; and top is AVH-X8650BT.

agree, there are many reliable and prominent car audio shops na pwede pagpagawan instead sa blade.from budget installs to more expensive ones gears,it all depends sa budget mo.installers like jetcar, candyshop, quest car audio,jc car audio,mickey's,simplesound,sun-x..etc.you will not go wrong with them.

^yeah, mickey's for me when it comes to car audio. might be expensive but you'll get what you paid for. though i haven't tried jc audio(at cainta?) yet for price comparison, pero when it comes to craftsmanship sigurado pareho lang sila. those guys(JC) are mickey's former technicians who invested their own shop for a start. seems success naman.

yes, yung craftmanship saka yung tuning skills nila ang sulit. jc is in san juan, c&j yung nasa cainta.

OT: is KAC closed now o down lang yung site? error na at hindi mabuksan yung website. dami pa naman mabasa dun

To the tsikoter who's asking kung saan maganda magpa set-up. I would like to add Araneta Car Accessories. Sila nag setp up ng Swift ko, hindi bara bara ang installation ng wires sa ilalim at malinis. Budget meal-set up. Jeff Tan runs the shop.

i don't have firsthand experience sa ACA so i cannot comment on them. but if you read back the thread, parang may di maganda feedback sa kanila. simplesounds gumawa ng kotse ko and i can vouch for the quality ng gawa at craftmanship ng installer.
