    Madali lang iyan... i-park mo sa patag na lugar ang sasakyan. Mas maigi kung malamig ang makina.

    Pull-out the dipstick. Wipe-off the oil from the end. Put it back in. Pull it out again. Ideally, dapat nasa malapit na sa MAX iyung level ng oil na sumama sa dip stick. Kung kulang, dagdagan mo. Use a funnel para malinis ang pag-pour ng oil... Ngayon naman, kung sobra, balikan mo iyung nag-change oil, pukpukin mo sa ulo.

    Ang indicator nga pala kung saan ang tamang level ng oil, eh, yung twisted portion ng dipstick end. Ang minimum level, iyung twist sa bandang dulo. Iyung maximum level, iyung twist na mas malapit sa handle.

    thanks prenster....kung mag spill yung excess oil ano ang magiging worst effect nya????

    natatakot na ako to touch the engine after the problem with my batt fluid....although they replaced the batt naman as well as painted the corroded/rusted part ....save ko na yung advice mo sa cel ko mamaya check ko lang muna ha! pipicture-an ko n post dito ..

    If you spill some of the oil on the external parts of the engine, i think the worst that will happen is it will gather more dirt.

    If you pour excess oil INTO the engine, the excess will spill into the combustion chambers and will get burned with the gasoline. Masisira ang mga oil seals ng engine mo.

    So kung sumobra, ipa-drain mo nang kaunti kay Prime. Ehe. Kasi kung dadalhin pa sa service stations, may kaunting (slight lang naman siguro) damage na sa oil seals...

    30K PMS * Toyota Alabang:

    Labor .................... 1,377.60

    Full Syn. Oil ........... 1,600.00
    Oil Filter ................ 399.87
    Spark plugs ............ 550.24

    Total + tax = 4,703.23 less dicount (VIP Card) = 4,302.46

    3 liters of full synthetic oil ang ginamit.

    Renew VIP Card for discout = 1,000.00

    Satuday ako nagpa schedule kaya sa Alabang and not Shaw. Mayroong akong solong gala sa mall. Noong 25K, sa Shaw ako. Change oil filter and top-up lang.

    Malamang early January na ang sunod nito, unless mapapadalas ang byahe ko pa Tarlac.

    5000km PMS tyt OTIS:

    Last saturday i have our vanzki serviced for 5km PMS (5300+km). Sabi nung SA di pa daw papalitan yung spark plugs, sa 10km na lang daw. Same bill as the 1km PMS(1200+), may dagdag lang ng konti kasi nagpa-engine detail ako (400+). Total bill was 1600+ via creditcard (wala cash...:|).

    Pres: Mas mahal pala yung engine detail sa Alabang compare sa OTIS.

    Plus VAT pa ang naka list kong price.

    Every 10K nga ang palit ng spark plugs, pero ang ganda pa ng quality ng plugs after the replacement. Medyo umitim ng konti, walang carbon deposits. Walang abnormal na wear and tear.

    Mukang OK ang kausap mo sa OTIS. :D

    Actually it doesnt hurt if you overfill by half or 1 liter the most. What will make the oil go to your combustion chamber is that when: your piston rings are worn out(oil scraper, at the lower portion of the piston kasi ang first two are the ones which seal the combustion during the four strokes and the oil scraper is the one to wipe the oil from the cylinder liners in the power stroke cycle (pagbaba ng piston) and intake too.; and valve seals are worn out.

    It wont damage your oil seals either kasi lubricant yan. But as a habit maintain the oil in the max line level, but in reality there's not much harm in overfilling by a half liter as oil tends to cool the engine too so extra oil will help especially in the hot driving conditions in the Phils.

    Sa race cars it can have an effect kasi sa high rpm that the engine is seeing pag overfill ang crankcase mo un splash (windage) when the crank spins tumatama sa oil it robs power (abt 2hp) kaya pansinin nyo ang oil pan natin meron deep sump un pinaka lowest level nya kaya dun nag settle ang oil so as to keep the oil away from the spinning crankshaft. sa street driven vehicles negligible ang windage effect.

    If you check the oil dipstick and its below the max line, ok open the oil fill cap lagay ka ng funnel then pour only about half liter or tantyahin mo. let it settle for 1 or 2 mins then check again the oil level. First pala park it in a level area kahit mainit ang makina let it settle about 5 mins after you turn off the engine para bumaba ang langis, then check.

    Kunsabagay, wala pa naman sigurong leakage sa mga parts na iyun dahil bago pa naman sasakyan ni Ma'am Jane.

    Siguro hindi oil seals mada-damage... ganun kasi ang sabi sa akin... Baka valve seals, kung may leakage na't kasama nang nasunog sa gas ang excess oil.

    Anyway, may natutunan na naman ako.

    add ko lang pag ang engine is at least 5 years old, wala pang problema ang sobrang langis sa engine kasi tight at fresh pa ang mga oil seals...ang mararamdaman mo lng medyo pigil yung engine kasi uunti yung air clearance sa oil pan para magcirculate yung oil kasi the more volume the more load ang madadagdag sa pag spin ng oil pump, at kung umakyat sa combustion chamber susunugin nya yun at medyo mabaho ang usok ng makina...papasok na dyan yung carbon deposit na sisira sa piston rings at valves which will accumulate after 5 years of usage and wear and tear ng internal parts.

    Oo nga busy din me. Kaya na uso sa blueprinting ang knife edge ng crankshaft kasi ang counter weights niya eccentric kaya hinahasa technically as knife edge para pag splash ng crank sa langis e swoosh lang.

    Un naman sa overfill walang effect sa drag sa loob ng makina kaya meron tayong pcv valve sa ibabaw ng makina (me tube sa valve cover na nakakabit sa air cleaner on most cars) sya ang positive crankcase ventilation valve kasi ang combustion ng makina exerts pressure pag power at intake stroke so ang pressure inside the engine has to go somewhere out otherwise sabog ang seals mo. kaya un ang vent nya sa taas papunta sa air cleaner. kaya wala actually epek sa performance ang sumobra ka ng langis. aakayat lang ang langis sa combustion chamber pag sira ang oil rings mo or ang valve seals or head gasket me crack.
